Take your students on an excursion to Outback Queensland and receive a subsidy of up to $130 per student with the Outback Education Tour Subsidy Scheme.   The experience of a lifetime awaits your group with Outback Queensland providing an authentic backdrop to learn about Australian history and heritage, dinosaurs, native animals and experience aboriginal culture and life on the land

 The Outback Queensland is accessible, affordable and will be a memorable introduction to Australian history and culture for your students.   Travelling though Outback Queensland by coach or rail you can choose from a huge range of educational attractions, just a few examples include:

 Along the way there are many natural attractions and landscapes to explore with warm, friendly locals welcoming you with their stories of the past and lessons for the future.   Your students will meet the influential characters who shape our Outback and experience the diverse lives of the families who live on the land.    Experiencing our indigenous culture in Outback Queensland is a unique opportunity to connect with Australia’s past. 

 The Outback Education Tour Subsidy Scheme has been developed to encourage schools to take Queensland Year 5, 6, 7 primary students to visit Outback Queensland to learn about the history and heritage of our State.   The scheme operates as a subsidy which is paid direct to schools after they have met the eligibility requirements for funding. 

 The subsidy program has partnered with a number of coach companies and transport providers who specialise in coordinating school excursion groups to Outback Queensland.  Queensland Rail Travel, through their Edusaver scheme, are offering an incredible 70% discount on train tickets for students and up to 50% discount for adults. 

 With up to $130 per student available, the Department of Education Training, and Employment, Tourism and Events Queensland, Department of Major Events, Small Business and Commonwealth Games and Outback Queensland Tourism Association would like to invite you to take part in the Outback Education Tour Subsidy Scheme.
